This group from Liverpool - hard not to recognise the accent even from Europe - was actaully formed back in 2010. If your check out their Spotify discography page: scroll down after the all prevailing Spotify ‘popular releases’, then —>(highlight) Singles and EP’s —>then click ‘Show all’. It then becomes clear that even if this is their first ‘album’, they have been releasing singles and EP’s since 2013. Moving on. I first came across this song in late July this year, where it had been discovered via the then new AI Music Release Agent, with a title like that it’s hard to forget. For reasons I do not recall, it did not make the cut, and was not included as a ‘Release’ at the time, but hey, we can all change our minds, right? On (this) second listen, I have to admit it’s a great Indie Rock song, even if the ‘break’ around 1.44 in needs a little getting used to. Matt Berninger is primarily known as the frontman and lyricist of indie rock band The National, the American rock band from Cincinnati, Ohio, formed in Brooklyn, New York City, way back in 1999. Like a lot of things music American, even groups like The National get lost in World Music noise. I only really caught up with them with ‘Tropic Morning News’ from the album "First Two Pages of Frankenstein" released on April 28, 2023, which I did feature on the old Streamusique blog at the time. And why the gap between the ‘discovery’ in July and ‘release’ last Friday? That’s the new done thing: pre-release a single very early, then include it in the next new EP or album. Before turning to AI generated new music release search bots, one site I have used for many years is AllMusic that has a new release section which you can sign up for a weekly email. Long story short: The Linda Lindas new album, Gotta Get Out, was featured in this week's AllMusic, and this is my choice from that album. A very interesting LA based 'post punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave and rock en español' (from their Spotify blurb). Always liked this group, and happy to see they are slowly coming back. What I mean by that is there was there was a sort of ‘gap’ between the release of the album “Essex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” in January 2025, and the single “Do Ya Want It” in June 2026. And, yes, that’s a bit of a gap, as the English would say. With this one they seem to be moving in, maybe could call it a curved direction. Missed this one back two weeks ago at the end of April. I have listened to new releases before from this Melbourne based alt pop-rock band (whatever that means) only have never featured any of them. Don't be fooled by the long intro that sounds sort folksy as it is really not what the song is about. From their new album of the same name, released March 6, 2026. This is a very cool US indie rock song by this well established group that you probably have never heard of. First came across these guys back in 2018 with the release of their album “Let The Record Play”, where I see from Spotify I liked ‘Too High’, ‘Good As Gold’ and ‘No More Worry’, all from that same album. Three songs from one album is unusual for me, so I remember waiting in anticipation for the release of Moon Taxi’s next releases. Only to find myself skipping the “Silver Dream” album in 2021, and then liking ‘Set Yourself Free’ from the album of the same name, released in 2023 - still my favorite Moon Taxi. Moon Taxi are an indie/alt‑rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, in the USA and actually have been active since 2006. This is what used to be one of the joys of Spotify: discovering bands who are 'BIG' in the vast US market that you have never heard of. A discovery process that has got so much harder as Spotify continues to relentlessly push it's 'Made for (you)' and 'Discover Weekly' algorithm (now read AI) generated playlists. Bring back humans.]]>
