No New Songs - The Demise of everynoise.com
The last update to this site was back in late November last year (2023), just before I took off from a 2-month trip "downunder".
The good intention was to sporadically update new song releases whilst I was away, well we all know what happens to good intentions, especially over an extended holiday break.
On my return, early in February 2024, I was extremely disappointed to find out that the source of the new song releases featured here on a weekly basis was no more.
everynoise.com published a weekly update every Friday of ALL Spotify's new song releases across ALL genres. I have been following this site since at least 2015, and there is NO equivalent.
From the everynoise.com site, published on January 5, 2024 (accessed via web.archive.org):
"2024-01-05 status update: With my layoff from Spotify on 2023-12-04, I lost the internal data-access required for ongoing updates to many parts of this site. Most of this, as a result, is now a static snapshot of what, for now, will be the final state from the site's 10-year history and evolution, hosted on my own server. Some pieces may get disabled and reenabled over time, and some that only made sense with current data may never return. But we'll see.
Should all this fail, too, the site is also preserved in the Internet Archive.
Thank you to everyone who loved this site along the way, for believing in music and exploration and collective knowledge and public good. Further major news will be posted here, but for ongoing updates, follow my blog at furia.com, or @everynoise on Twitter. "
His name, which I did not know, is Glenn McDonald, and you can access much more detailed reading of the demise of his site via the furia.com blog mentioned above.
As I said, there is no, repeat, no equivalent site to match the depth and genre breakdown of Glenn McDonald site.
Yes, you can attempt to search Spotify, and listen to its 'recommendation for you', and there are other sites, but none matches what everynoise.com produced.
