I Turn

Darren Middleton

Classic indie rock song from the latest album from Darren Middleton.

Surprisngly his 6th solo album - was the whole Powderfinger thing that long ago?

Yes, it was and he’s forever noted as ‘as guitarist and songwriter’ for that great Australian band (1991 - 2010).

I Could Be Wrong

Linda Lindas

One thing did come out of death of everynoise.com was wider and wider search to find an alternative. And just to be clear, there really isn't one.

Before turning to AI generated new music release search bots, one site I have used for many years is AllMusic that has a new release section which you can sign up for a weekly email.

Long story short: The Linda Lindas new album, Gotta Get Out, was featured in this week's AllMusic, and this is my choice from that album.

A very interesting LA based 'post punk, garage rock, power pop, new wave and rock en español' (from their Spotify blurb).

Reminds me in some ways of the British group 'Dream Wife', even if that group does have a male drummer.

Rock and Roll

Bilk

Always liked this group, and happy to see they are slowly coming back.

What I mean by that is there was there was a sort of ‘gap’ between the release of the album “Essex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll” in January 2025, and the single “Do Ya Want It” in June 2026.

And, yes, that’s a bit of a gap, as the English would say.

With this one they seem to be moving in, maybe could call it a curved direction.

Sure this it sounds like (don’t say it), only it does stand as a great rock song all by itself.
